FMA would like, in connection with the future announcement of a new framework agreement for WDM equipment (Wavelength-division multiplexing) to map the market for such equipment and get an updated understanding of the supplier landscape. The Norwegian Armed Forces use WDM equipment in their nationwide fibre network. Plan for the replacing and architecture for the DWDM network depends on the Norwegian Armed Forces long-term plan and future financing. FMA and the Norwegian Armed Forces would like to have plans for the DWDM network ready before any investment decision. This market survey is intended to give FMA and the Norwegian Armed Forces detailed knowledge on the market for WDM equipment and WDM technology in terms of possible suppliers, performance and WDM architecture.
